BRINGING OUR DESIGNER PURSE BINGO TO LIFE
What happens when you combine designer handbags, a room full of excited guests, a little friendly competition, and a community coming together for a good cause? WMCD’s biggest fundraiser yet!
On Sunday, August 23, 170 supporters gathered at the Carriage House at Storrowton Tavern for a fun afternoon filled with bingo, prizes, laughter, and plenty of excitement. As each number was called, our eyes were locked in on our bingo cards, hoping to take home one of the high-end designer purses.
The prizes ranged from top-end Michael Kohrs bags to Kate Spade, Dooney & Bourke, Calvin Kleine, and a few constellation prizes for any rounds that tied. Local businesses and supporters pitched in to make this prize pool possible, so we’d like to thank Greeno Supply, Valley Green Shredding, Bouchard Dental, Marie Gilberty, SirSpeedy, and Michele Jarvis for doing just that! Their support meant that every single attendee could win a purse worth using for years to come! Beyond the purses themselves, the event was a reminder of what can happen when people come together to support a shared mission.
Whether you attended the event to win big, donated a prize, contributed to a raffle basket, shared our posts on social media, or planned the event, you were part of the reason this event was so successful. We are very lucky to share that we raised over $9,000, making this WMCD’s largest fundraiser both in attendance, and in profit! Isn’t that awesome?
And of course, we can’t forget the raffle baskets and the cash bar that added a little fun to the afternoon! Because of your generous donations, we will be able to continue creating opportunities for young people to get involved, give back, develop leadership skills, and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
We’re just getting started, and we hope you’ll keep this energy rolling with us. Next up is our FunnyRaising Comedy Night on October 24, followed by our inaugural Pickleball Tournament on November 8 and Music Bingo on December 4. We’re wrapping up the fundraising season with a WMCD classic - an all-new Murder Mystery Dinner at the end of January!
The next few months are very exciting for the growth of our organization, and we thank you so much for being a part of it.
